Switch on your goddamn lights…
It was 6.16pm. But it was as dark as 7pm. Heavy rain. Very heavy. Visibility close to zero. But some farktards just don’t switch on their fucking headlights. WTF is wrong with them??!! Wanna make people’s driving difficulty more ‘fun’? More exciting? Idiots…!!
Freaky camera tripod
I bought a freaky camera tripod. It is so freaky and weird that it does not really looked like a camera tripod.
Joby Gorillapod SLR-Zoom
It is called Joby Gorillapod SLR-Zoom. Yamiya EStore Trading is selling for RM160, which I think it pretty good offer having the thought that it is a lil hard to get in KL. Besides, I purchased it online and have it sent to me absolutely free of charge.
I read alot of reviews about it. There are more of good reviews compare to that of bad ones. First thought when I received mine was; sturdy. The length is approximately 23.5cm (from the screw to the end of the leg) and the built amazed me. It weighs under 280grams which makes it as prefect travelling companion. Like Apple iPod products, it is designed in California, USA and it is manufactured in China.
Every joint is adjustable (with significant amount of force) and it fits prefectly to the odd position that you favour the most.
I’ve gotta admit I got butterflies in my stomach when I first tried out the above stunt. You definitely need a lil bit of confidence for the first time. Else, place a few pillows under it to absorb any fall. Overall, I’m pretty satisfied with this purchase because it solves all those low shutter speed problem I have when I’m out for night shots. However, having said that, this tripod is only for temporary use as it offers limited height. Definitely, you have to purchase an actual camera tripod for long term photography investment.
Last but not least, at the back of the packaging it stated that they are dedicated to the environment and pledge that 1% of the sales funds goes to preservation of the planet. Let’s hope they really mean it.

New firmware is out for Canon EOS 40D!!
Signs of underuse camera
Signs to indicate you rarely use your DSLR camera:
1) Only charged the battery 2 ~ 3 times since you purchased your camera
2) Shutter count less than 3k after 6 months
3) A layer of dust covers all over the camera body and lens even if you keep them in the cupboard
4) Still reading the manual book (PDF file most of the time)
5) Discovers new buttons after 6 months owning it
6) Still thinks the camera is heavy
7) Amateurish way of detaching off and putting on the lens
8) Default settings still available
9) Using your mobilephone’s built-in camera and/or compact digital camera rather than DSLR
10) Still using 2GB memory card and never had the chance to fill it up completely
11) Have not use RAW format till this point
Unfortunately, this is what happened to me. Either I’m lazy to shoot or do not have the time to shoot.
No portrait photos in my site
One asked me why there are no portrait photos in my website or in my Flickr. It is pretty straight forward question which I could answer without any doubt;
Heineken
1) I find it hard to capture the moment. As they said, ‘a picture worth a thousand words’. It takes time, luck and skills to produce a stunning photo that tells a story. Whether your subject ( a person or a group) is happy, sad or talking, every movement dictates a different way of what they are expressing at that very instant.

2) It is hard to produce portraiture (needs lots of practice and composition). You can’t just shoot your subject there and then. Well, I mean you can do it that way but it will look kinda ordinary at times. You have to know when to take your subject and and which angle. Besides, it is natural that one will look at the camera while you point your camera at them. So, at the end of the day, it really depends how do you want your final photo to be, whether you want your subject looking at camera (conventional style) or when they are happily expressing something without looking at your camera.
3) I find it uncomfortable to post one’s photos online. I read a lot of disasterous stories about having one’s photo being used for a different purpose. Therefore, to be on the safe side, no portrait photos at the moment. There might be some accidental shots but I believe those are out of my control. I can’t just tell them to buzz of from my frame because of one shot. So, until I feel really secured, there will be no human photos in my blog nor in my Flickr. I will only put it upon request from their respective owners.
