Look Ma’, They Are Changing Brand

Nikon is doing fine in terms of specifications. Canon is just messing with facelift and a mere increase of specifications only. Yeah, I’m talking about the latest DSLR by both of them, namely Nikon D90 and Canon EOS 50D. If you place Canon EOS 40D and 50D side by side, you can hardly tell the difference between them, let it be physically or via specs sheet whereas Nikon D90 is way ahead of Canon’s in terms of everything.

As of late, it is slightly (if not more) disturbing to see Canon users are changing to Nikon. I have friends talking about it. I have friend’s friend quitting the red logo for the yellow one. I do admit that Nikon is doing really good of late. Their D300, D700 and D90 just make my friends awe in wonder. I do like the Nikon D300 too.

Most of them change system because of the fact that the new Nikon DSLRs perform way better than Canon’s. If you are to put D300 in the same arena as 40D, one needs to wonder whether is there really a need to have a comparison between them at all. 51 points over 9 points. 8 fps (with battery grip) over 6.3 fps (with/out battery grip). Let’s not even think about comparing the LCD screen because Canon’s ………… *speechless*

Faster AF, better colour production, yada yada yada and the list goes on. But the thing that I always wonder the most is that whether do they, the users, really really fully utilise those stuffs. I do understand that those who change brand because their excellent pics are their main source of income. But what about the rest? Fully utilising it is one matter but fully utilising them at all freaking time is another.

I read a statement from the ever famous photographer, Ken Rockwell, which I probably have to agree on;

Photographic Reality: Digital cameras are a rich man’s sport. Let’s be serious: I’m supposed to drop another $1,000 on a new D90 just because it does movies, as if my D80 (or D40) from last week suddenly isn’t good enough anymore?

When it comes to photos, or anything in life, it’s the man, not the tools………

As for me, I doubt I will ever ‘jump ship’ nor will I change to a better camera soon. No, I’m not a fanboy of Canon. Mind you, my previous PnS (both of them) were from Sony. Well, it is because a) I’m enthusiast just a part-time hobbyist and b) I doubt I could ever maximize my camera’s capabilities, seriously. Besides, my reservoir is quite limited, ya know. It is hard enough to fund for a new lens let alone funding for a new system, a new brand and new set of lenses.

But hey, who am I to judge or say on one’s upgrade purchase? All I know is that, no matter what system you are getting, you’ll have my support, morally of course. Let it be Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Pentax, Panasonic, Samsung, Fuji, Kodak, Hasselbald and etc. Just make sure you have a solid reason behind your expensive yet wonderful gears.

As for now, let’s see what Canon can do about their replacement model for Canon EOS 5D… (hint : link)

Saw this on my IM this morning. A creative name given by my colleague. Haha.

Quit Friendster

I hereby announce that I officially closed my Friendster account.

Friendster

After using it for a decade (or more), I finally called it a day and decided to close my account. One (strong) reason behind this closure is that my friends received kinky messages from me which I did not send those in the first place (thanks to Cheryl for notifying me). Besides, Friendster is getting messier and I seldom check my account lately. So, there is no point for me maintaining the account and receive notification from them any further.

So, use Facebook-lah

Star Wars : The Clone Wars

Just came back from the preview.

Star Wars : The Clone Wars

Things you might be (really) interested in:-

1) If you are going to buy the tickets, please do yourself a favour and go for The Dark Knight instead. Trust me, you’ll be very satisfy with this selection.

2) IF you have purchased the tickets, please exchange for The Dark Knight a.s.a.p!!

3) IF you have not purchase the tickets, wait for Wall-E instead!!

4) If Wall-E is not out yet, by all means, go for the cheapest rate tickets possible.

5) If you are forced to watch this show, please select midnight shows or whenever there is no kids around. They (kids) are pests in the cinema. I had bad bad experience while watching with them around. They have this short attention syndrome whereby they could only concentrate for not more than 5 mins (I’ve already give them face-lah!!). Heck, if possible, please ban all kids below puberty age from entering the cinema hall!!

6) Please do not hold/have/whatever-it-is any high expectations for this movie. I didn’t have any right after I watched the trailer.

7) There were a handful of ‘funny’ scenes in it that could (without guarantees) make you chuckle a little (Read: chuckle!! Not ROFLOMGBBQSAUCELOL kind). You need to listen carefully but I doubt so if there are kids.

8) Lame old plot with lame ass butt drawing. Even Finding Nemo beats the shit out of this movie.

9) Even the real Star Wars with real people (and with the ‘kayu’ Anakin) in it beats the shit out of this movie.

10) The good thing is that it ‘tortured’ me for 1.5 hours only.

Thank god I got these preview tickets for free. Else, I’ll be stabbing myself with straw in the cinema.

Bad odour…

Why some tards don’t take the initiative to bath everyday??!! Don’t they understand the term ‘odour’??!! It makes no difference if you sprayed a gallon of Hugo Boss perfume all over but the odour is still there!!

News flash : For dieting, instead of limiting your food intake, just stand beside them for 30secs and inhale deeply. You’ll eventually lose your appetite (or probably puke the food you have taken) for the day.
